School Choice - DEADLINE May 1, 2025

Families that do not live in the Hermitage School District that wish for their children Grades K-12 to attend our schools, may choose the Arkansas School Choice Act option before May 1, 2025.

HOW TO APPLY FOR SCHOOL CHOICE

    • or receive a paper application by visiting the Hermitage School District Superintendent's Office at 310 N. School Drive in Hermitage between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • Applications must be postmarked or submitted to the Hermitage School District no later than May 1st to begin the fall semester.

  • Applications are accepted or rejected by July 1 by the nonresident district in writing.

The Public School Choice Act of 2015 Ark. Code Ann. § 6-18-1903 A public school choice program is established to enable a student in kindergarten through grade twelve (12) to attend a school in a nonresident district, subject to the limitations under Ark. Code Ann. § 6-18-1906 and the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) Rules Governing The Public School Choice Act of 2015.

Resident/Non-Resident § 6-18-1902

“Resident District” means the school district where the student resides as determined by § 6-18-202.

“Nonresident district” means a school district other than a student’s resident district.
