Ms. LaDonna Spain began serving as Superintendent of Schools for the Hermitage School District on July 1, 2023.  Prior to coming to Hermitage, she served as the Watson Chapel School District Assistant Superintendent.  She has 19 years’ experience as an administrator including a former Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Program Administrator within the Public School Accountability Division (PSA) with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) for over 15 years. As the former ADE Program Administrator for the Public School Accountability Division, Ms. Spain led work related to the Strategic Performance Management (SPM) State Plan, internal standard operating procedures, and supported Division Units and special projects.  As a former school improvement specialist, Ms. Spain served all Arkansas school districts and schools with needs assessments, school improvement and budget alignment needs. Ms. Spain served as a Woodlawn School District building principal and coordinated several district programs and budgets.  Ms. Spain has served as Curriculum Coordinator, Federal Programs, English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Gifted and Talented (GT) and Advanced Placement (AP) coordinator and various other roles in the Watson Chapel, Woodlawn, McGehee, Tiller, and Delta Special School Districts over her 31 years serving in the Education profession. 

 Ms. Spain graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1990, earned a P-12 Master’s degree in Gifted and Talented Education from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock in 2005 and a Master’s degree in P-12 Educational Leadership from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia in 2015.  In 2017, Ms. Spain completed an Educational Specialist degree from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia.

 Ms. Spain lives in Monticello with her husband Frank Spain who is the Prosecuting Attorney for the 10th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney’s office.  They have raised three daughters Kendal Wilson Noble, Klaire Wilson Stimson, and Caroline Wilson.  With the marriage of her daughters Kendal to Brent Noble and Klaire to Josh Stimson her family has grown.  Ms. Spain and her husband are grandparents to three grandchildren.
